I love how the kids take after me sometimes. Whenever I ask them or others to rate things, my favorite scale is from 1 to 1. Yes, one to one and Olivier was talking to Mel and asking her to rate something based on my awesome scale and she just kind of shook her head and he pushed her, The beautiful thing about the scale is you can interpret the answer however you want whether it is good or bad and make something up to go with it. It is the absolute perfect scale to use for ratings. When we arrived home from our little shoppiung spree, Xavier was tasked with bringing things downstairs and he always likes to go punch his bag when he is free. Mel thought she saw the bag swinging and told him to stop doing that and to come upstairs and help with unpacking. Olivier chimed in immediately and replied to Mel that it must be the wind and his brother was not doing anything of the sort. The two of them are always willing to defend themselves against Mel when they are in a good mood. They will throw each other under the bus if it involves the other person possibly harassing, otherwise it is fairly cordial.
There are a couple of days to go before I have treatment again and it is interesting how I can taste some things so easily and then with some others I can barely taste a thing. We had purchased some ice cream from Costco, and it is flavourless, but it had a nice texture. Tomorrow I am busy for a large portion of the day and then I need to go pick up Xavier from the arena. We decided to make some chilli and I could taste all of the ingredients and the tomato there, so my taste buds are ok for some things, but missing for others. My weight has been stable for the last week since I have bren drained and I have not had any issues with sleeping at night, I have not had any issues with eating, but for the last 2 days I have not had any bowel movements which happens from time to time. I had a rash from where they had applied the tape from the drainage tube, but I applied some cream I had to prevent itchiness and inflammation and it seems to be working quite well. i have also not had any issues with sleeping so I am interested to see how I will react to things this week. My vision for the most part has returned to normal now and I do not have much issues seeing my laptop and the neuropathy in my right hand has decreased significantly and I am able to type without much issues at the moment. It is times like this where I forget the struggles that I sometimes have and I no longer worry about difficulties with any treatment. I think it is a false bravado until we see how I endure the third round of this treatment, So far I hafve not been able to handle the actual proper treatment regime and we have had to modify it each time. Hopefully things go well this time though,
Friends of ours had an unpleasant experience a couple of weeks ago with someone entering their home, so I have taken to locking the door when I am working in the bedroom with the door closed. Mel failed to tell me that the drywaller was visiting and I heard noise and wandered out to see someone in my house. He explained who he was and told me that Mel had opened the door for him. A little while later my mother in law dropped in as well and I was not expecting her but I had the door open and heard someone coming in. She at least came and dropped off treats for the kids, For some reasson she has failed to bring me lemon poppy seed loaf or flan. I am quite disappointed in the lack of flan. I am a big fan of it. We went to my parents for dinner and I love when they ask me what I want to eat and then totally ignore it. Most of the dinner tonight was comprised of things that is difficult for me to eat so it was quite the wondeful experience. My mother said that my dad was trying some new things and he does not like to be told to stick to the classics. His experimentations was not that great. I want the classics right now. Thursday will be safe as Olivier asked for wonton soup. Hopefully treatment that day is awesome.
