Today and tomorrow are Amazon Prime day and Mel has already bught a bunch of things and nearly bankrupted us with her purchases. She is driving back from the Sault today so while in the vehicle she will most likely spend even more money purchasing things to help pass the time. I think that is why she wanted to go to the Sault for this trip so she would mot have me telling her that she can not buy that. I am not sure if she really needs everything she is purchasing, like command hooks, pajamas and touch-up paints. Unlike me who wants to buy a portable power station for backup power. You never know when you need to be able to power the RV at a provincial park because the power goes out. I am trying to be practical and create contingency plans. There is a saucier that I really want that i have been waiting for to see if it goes on sale. I would also like to get another ice cream scoop to go with the 3 we have. I purchased 2 of them and the other was inherited, but there is a size in between the 2 that we have from Zeroll that I would like to get. They are professional ice cream scoops. The kids might one day work in an ice cream parlor as teenagers, so if we bought them they could practice and put on their resume that they have experience with professional ice cream scoops.
Today is the last tryout for high school hockey and the team has a game next week against Lasalle and a couple of weeks against St.Charles. Last night he was out in Capreol and there is a younger kid that comes out to practice with Xavier’s team on occasion and he made a comment to his mom about how cool Xavier’s mask was a couple of practices ago. The mom works with Mel and she looked for her but we do not drive out to Capreol so she was not seen. Not many kids who play houseleague have the level of equipment that Xavier has so he will really stand out. When he played rep, his equipment always made him stand out. Last week the brother of one of our friends came by and grabbed some of Xavier’s old gear so he will really stand out with it. Xavier has much more confidence that he will make the team now and he said that if the goal is to carry 3 and for the best one will start that he will become the starter. He is a hard worker and continuously looks to improve. Once Olivier gets home I will go and go to the arena and watch the end of his practice. We then need to figure out what we want for dinner tonight,
Last night I did not sleep very well, if i just go to bed when I am not tired I can fall asleep, but then I will get up during the night. I had a bit of a headache this morning but I have eaten a lot of food today. My mother-in-law came bu while I was in a meeting and she dropped off something in tinfoil. Normally when someone does that it is lobster thermidor and I was all excited. I opened it up and instead of flan or lobster it was a lemon poppyseed loaf. i do enjoy those and cut myself a slice before the kids descend on it and devour the whole thing. As the kids and myself are Chinese and Mel is a little bit Chinese, we enjoy eating poppyseeds for the opium. We have never had any instances of severe dysentry in our family and I suspect it is because we like to eat lemon poppyseed loaves. I had a bit of bone broth left in the fridge so I used it to make some tumeric rise to eat with the beef that I had made yesterday. It was quite delciious and I may have eaten a bite or two too much and i thought that i might vomit, but luckily i did not. I can taste things much better today so the recovery does not seem to be as harsh as the other drug. We will see how treatment goes this week and see if Saturday is rough. I may also just ask for the Benadryl via IV if that helps. I will monitor my weight this weekend to see if I need to get drained, but I think within the next two weeks I will end up getting drained.
