I did not sleep very well last night, most likely because of the effects of the steroids still. I may consider taking it a second night, but it may also be because I knew that I could not sleep in this morning as I was driving Xavier to hockey this morning. I feel a bit on the tired side now in the evening, but it is the same as last week, but hopefully things ill be ok. Mel has abandoned the family again to go out drinking. It seems to be the new trend where Saturday night she likes to see how much alcohol she can drink. Tonight she is out playing Porketta Bingo to support hockey. We had our crawfish/crab boil today which was quite successful. Considering the amount of food, we managed to eat all of it. In a surprising twist, the potatoes were the favorites out of everything, and that is something that Mel did not put a lot in because she did not think that the kids would want it. Olivier asked if we had put in artichoke. I think that next time that we will.
I have a lot of fatigue in my llegs, and it feels like it is in my bones. The neuropathy today is a bit worse because muy hands feel quite cold. I am a bit concerned on what the winter is going to bring. My grip strength is weak, but I am no sure if that is because of the neuropathy or if I am just weak now. The fatigue that I have now is managable though and is nowhere near as bad as when I am not doing well. This is rather easy to hande and it is something that does not concern me as much. I do not need to necessarily wait a bit before I get up, I can move around normally, the issue is that physically my legs feel tired as opposed to drained energy levels. Drained energy levels are more difficult to deal with. So far it seems that this treatment without the chemo drug is ok. The impact of the one drug seems to be ok and next week I will have the week off from treatment. As long as I do not have a temperature I think that I will be fine this eveming, and if I do get a fever I am going to take some tylenol and wait it through the night. We did not hear back from the hospital about the viral tests, which would indicate that they are negative.
The challenging part I think will be managing my energy levels with all of Xavier’s activity. When he played in Copper Cliff it was much easier as it was 7 minutes away and I could rest, now with him playing in Capreol we might need to get a condo in that area so that I can rest up. I think that i will be able to manage it as well as tournaments. The key is to figrue out my sleeping schedule, as long as I am able to take naps it seems to be ok. I am going to try and start working out again or being more active. it seems that when i am more active i have more energy, and the last couple of weeks I have not been as active. Physically i am fatigued, but mentally I am doing well and energy levels I am fine. This is a pattern that i can dweal with and i think that if I build up my physical endurance again I will be fine.
