Today I have confirmed that I need to be very careful about driving in a vehicle after eating. We decided to go visit Mel’s parents at halfway lake for a couple of hours. We are dinner and Olivier wanted some ice cream from the store, but Mel had just finished a box of wine and was polishing off her 17th cooler. I said I would drive them and it seems that the motion in the car is not great for me. Once we got back I did not feel great and my whole body feels rather weak. I threw up a couple of times but it is almost all mucous. It seems that my body is creating a lot of it trying to digest my protein heavy dinner, but the lack of room in my stomach makes it difficult. With bouncing around movement it is not a great combination. Mel is being all scientific and thinks it is my parasympathetic system over activating and creating more acid to help out with digestion. Since this is being activated it is drawing energy away from my body making me feel weak and drained all over. She is quite lucent and logical at this time. We have noticed this pattern in the past, but it is not consistent. As long as there is extra space it seems to be ok. Right now I seem to be having a lot of gas and when I do burp it helps relieve the pressure, but I can also feel the liquid owly building up. The key is to not to move too much and allow digestion to happen. Right now there are a lot of people on the site and I am feeling a bit overstimulated and using energy that I currently do not have. I was telling people earlier that it is all mind over matter for the nausea and you just need to believe. It works when I am at home and can control all of the variables. When we are out and about and my son requests something I can be foolish and assist him when perhaps I should not. Besides this little set back things are not too bad.
Xavier had hockey bright and early today and I managed to sleep through the night and got up to drive him. The arena is super close by so I drove him there, came back home and then went to watch him play in a quick scrimmage. He looked good on the ice and should be ready for the upcoming season where ever be decides to play. Olivier today decided to sleep in until last 11am, which is a bit surprising. He said that he had some difficulty falling asleep last night so he slept in a bit extra. Xavier is more like me and does not sleep in at all. Once he is up, he is up for the day and will make due. Tomorrow he will help me out with dinner and setting up the grill and preparing all of the meat. We had tried to buy some brisquettes from Canadian Tire in Chelmsford today for tomorrow but they are cleaning up their store and changing our displays and there were none available. The charcoal briquettes are more consistent than lump charcoal so I prefer that for cooking like this. Having him help out is nice now since if I am tired he knows what to do. We are home now and I do not feel very awesome, so I am going to bed.
