Yesterday I received a phone call from my doctor telling me about some of the results from my CT. He saw that my colon was inflamed and asked if I had pain on my right hand side. I had replied no and he was not too concerned about proceeding with the surgery on Wednesday. He informed me that if I did have pain that I should go in immediately to the ER. Since I had no other symptoms or pain he did not say much. I expect my bloodwork on Tuesday to be consistently off.
Melanie wants to do the guest blog this weekend, but we have been busy. The adjustable bed arrived yesterday and today we set it up. It was much easier than anticipated and I gotta say that I really like having the bed in zero gravity mode. It adds additional wear on the bed, but that is ok if it lasts 10 years. It would be 100 dollars per year.
1.) I randomly choose different stages of my career to be thankful for things. At each stage I was with people that have been great and have helped me out tremendously. I still have contacts and keep in touch with the people that I have been close to at each location and I am grateful for that. We have maintained a relationship even though we do not see each other every day. It may be years before I chat with some people but that is ok, when we do get back together to talk it is like no time has passed. I appreciate having friends like this where time does not matter and does not impact the relationship.
2.) I do not have a lot of family in Sudbury, just my aunt, uncle and cousins. Once upon a time we were close, but now after some family disagreements we are not anymore. I am not sure exactly how the relationship got so bad amongst the parents. It was a progression over time of things that should have never happened, but it has not necessarily impact the younger generation amongst the cousins. I am glad that my generation is able to still maintain some sort of friendliness even when the parents do not necessarily get along well.
3.) I miss food. I miss being able to taste things. I appreciate and understand why some people may not be interested in food if they can not taste the nuances in various dishes. It is getting better now and every day I can taste a bit more. It is very difficult to cook without certain taste buds missing. I can not taste salt or sweet still, but there are instances where I can. One of my favorite fruits is durian. My parents have some and are saving it for me for when I can eat it again. It is one of the smelliest fruits in the world and is banned in public transit. I love it. Today Mel made me a white chocolate cheesecake with a shortbread crust. It was fantastic. I could not taste the white chocolate ganache, but I could the cheesecake and the base. If it has high fat I am able to taste it.
