We have been out all day today and I think that I have reached my limit. Primarily because of lack of nutrition as there is not a lot a food in the area that is tolerable for me to eat. It seems that the safest food that I can eat is Asian food and the selection in Oshawa lacks severely. When we came here we are some aburi sushi from a sushi place that we like and it was delicious. Today we also ate some soup dumplings that was fine. Almost everything else that i had today I struggled with, but on the bright side it should only be one more day. Doing everything today was extremely taxing on my body and I can feel the fatigue. It starts primarily as coldness that I can not get rid of. I had brought things to help combat against it, but in our haste we misplaced them somewhere that I am not exactly sure at the moment. Mel is ridiculous and thought that we would be able to buy a day bed, two mattresses and three sets of bookcases to fit into the van on the drive home. We will see if we can accomplish this or not. We managed to jam pack a lot of it into the back of the van, but the Yeti cooler and are largest suitcase have not been added as of yet. On days like this I appreciate how awesome of a family I have. Mel has been an angel and incredibly patient with me even though I am sure that I have been cranky all day. Xavier helped lend us his strength as he helped load up all of the flat packed boxes from Ikea. Even though today was taxing we made it through the day and only maxed out all of our credit cards and had to borrow a couple million from the local loan sharks. To Mel I am sure it will all be worth it. As I took a shower this evening I noticed that the ascites seem to be building up more but I lack the scale to confirm. I think that I will need to schedule a drainage either at the end of this week or early on next week. I do not want to do it yet as I want to see if it keeps on increasing or not. All of the things that I purchased for warmth seem to be working. The travel heated mattress, body and toe warmers all work well..with the time being set back an hour we will see how much this impacts my sleep.
At the event today there were coasters that said technique beats strength. The person that Xavier fought today was superior from a technical point of view but Xavier made up for it with sheer strength and won gold. My sister could not attend so an old friend from elementary school came to cheer him on..i use to stay at his house when I was doing my undergraduate degree and had to go to UoT library. We stood in each other’s wedding party and I had keys to their house. Him and his wife are probably some of my oldest and closest friend. If you had to rank them on a scale from one to one, they would definitely score a one. It was interesting watching him fight as I had no clue what was good or not and people were telling me. I thought that he was going to win by submission at one point but he did not. The contrast between him and his competitor was huge as he took it all seriously and Xavier was very non-chalant about it all. I think the biggest advantage that he had over the rest was his pure athleticism. He could easily manhandle his opponent and he was in far better shape. Xavier described them as either short and stocky or tall and thin. Both groups he does not struggle with.
We will be coming for a hockey tournament in a month and I have earned a lot of lessons. First and foremost being that this is probably not going to be as easy as I think it will be. The key is to be able to find food that I can tolerate. This is not hard in a big city but tricky in a small area. Oshawa was tough, Cambridge will be harder. I think the key is to be awesome. I forgot about that this weekend. Hopefully I will remember next time.
