Last night I was able to sleep for 6 hours through the night for the first time in quite some time. I do not actually remember the last time that I had slept through the night without an issue. I was not overly tired last night so it surprised me that I slept through the night. I had my breakfast of 1 scrambled egg on a piece of sourdough multigrain toast and ate that without much issue, followed later by coffee. When I was done my breakfast I was not overly full and felt pretty good about the amount that I had eaten. I also managed to eat a cup of pasta salad, some pita with baba ganoush, hummus and tabouli as well as half of a meat pizza. As a snack I had a Portuguese custard tart. Overall it was a pretty nice amount of food and I felt good after every meal where I did not feel like I had over eaten.
Reflecting back on the weekend I managed to do everything on my own and did not have much issue with fatigue or my energy level. At dinner tonight it was the second time that I managed to eat my whole bowl of pho. I am 2 for 2 now which makes my mother rather happy. The caveat to that though is I need to supervise them making my bowl. I take out of the noodles my mother puts into the bowl. My dad is easier as it is protein and he is a far better judge of the amount that I can eat. I need to make sure that he does not give me too much broth as that was an issue before. Now it has been pretty good and I have managed it rather well. This weekend we are doing a family shoot in the backyard and Xavier wanted to cook for everyone, but Mel was hesitant. We convinced her we can do it once we saw what the weather was like. We will be celebrating my mother in law’s birthday this weekend as well. Xavier is excited to cook for everyone, so I will try and do something that he can easily cook. We will need to take a trip to Costco to buy some ingredients, so that is something Mel is going to love to do. I should fire up the smoker to make something on it as well, all I need to do is start it the night before and get up in the middle of the night to check on it periodically. If I am still getting up at night I might do it.
Tomorrow I need to go in for my blood work and he is adding on some additional tests I believe to check things out. I still have not heard from CT to book my appointment for my next scan so I will check in with some people on what the delay for that is. Hopefully they do not schedule it for when we are away in Ottawa for a hockey tournament. The bloodwork results have been steadily improving this year which is an awesome sign. My goal is to reduce the cancer markers to nothing to utterly confuse the doctors. They will then need to question whether I am cured or they are not looking at the proper marker. Either way it will be fantastic. We have not heard back from Spain so I will send a follow email to them asking them if the doctors had looked at the files or not. They are inconclusive and did not shed much light on things which was expected. If something showed up I think that would be a concern.
Tomorrow is Xavier’s last exam for the year and then he will be done grade 9. We have asked him how he did and he said he is not sure but for most of his exams he has managed to write it twice and get the same answers. For other things that require creativity hearing the stories or logical arguments he crafts reminds him of me. He has a wonderful vocabulary that he can use and to read it, you can tell that he is far above his grade level. Sometimes it is so eloquent that you wonder if it was an AI that wrote it, except there are typos here and there. I love his writing. I should get him to ghost wrote for me if I ever can not anymore. We will see if people can tell or not. I think that a couple of my friends that really know me would. I know for sure of 1 that I would guess can pick it out as I have known him almost my whole life. It may be a fun experiment one day. Tomorrow is a new day on the next round of treatment and hopefully it will be as awesome as today. The early prep bloodwork will be awesome and then I can start treatment on Wednesday.
