It has been over 200 days since this journey has begun. I was told that I should expect to take 6-9 months off of work. The time has flown by, and things seem to be getting better now. This morning I drove myself to an appointment and it went well. The receptionist came out to talk to me and see how I was doing. Another patient came in during the conversation and started chatting with me about the cancer as well. There are a lot of nice people in the world and it was nice chatting with them. I did not have too much trouble driving or during my appointment. I took my time once leaving and made it back ok. Last year when I had pancreatitis, Xavier’s hockey helped me recover by making me go out and take him during the week. On Monday Melanie drove me and I did everything by myself. It is slowly getting easier and I do not get as tired. The issue now though is that with the increased activity and exercise I need to increase my caloric intake. I have now stopped and my weight has been stagnant. It is ok though as it is getting easier to eat and the exercise is good for me. With the amount of hockey Xavier has it should be all right and I will gain strength.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with my oncologist and then my surgeon on Thursday. Tomorrow it is a virtual appointment while on Thursday I have to go into the hospital for my appointment. I am assuming that it is not going to be a short time as I imagine I will end of waiting. I will provide an update on this on Thursday on my return.
