Growing up I would watch a lot of sports at my best friends house. Right now it is playoff hockey and it is game 7 between Toronto and Montreal. Watching the game right now, I realize that I miss watching sports with friends. Prior to Covid when I was at the University we would invite people over to watch the Superbowl or big sporting events. I personally do not care who wins between Toronto and Montreal but an exciting game is always fun to watch. When at my in-laws we use to watch sports there all of the time, but they are not really into sports but would watch the games and provide snacks.
Today I received my second Covid vaccination shot and my arm is a bit sore. I do not remember being this sore after the first one, but it was the day after I had surgery and I was taking quite a bit of painkillers. It is possible it was painful, but I do not recall. The discomfort in bed is virtually gone and I am sleeping with the bed flat now. Sleeping on my side is still a bit uncomfortable but my energy levels are getting better. Each day I can go further and walk more. Yesterday we went to Fielding with the boys and they biked on the trails while I walked and we went at a decent pace. Today we went for a walk up Corsi Hill and while a bit tiring I am trying to push it a bit each day. I no longer get fatigued working and have gone back to working longer hours now. I will see if I can maintain it, but right now it is not too bad.
In 2 more weeks, right before I go back to chemo, I want to eat a burger. I am waiting 4 weeks post-surgery and I will eat a burger. Right now that is what I am craving food wise. My diet right now is rather boring. Each morning I eat either oatmeal with blueberries or cream of wheat. My morning snack is cheese and homemade applesauce, or a protein shake. I realized that I need to slow down my eating at times or it gets super uncomfortable for me. Today I had a tuna salad in pita bread and ate it in 20 minutes. I rushed my last couple of bites and it was rather rough. Since I eat almost all day now, I rarely feel hungry, but I never feel full as I try and ration how much I eat each meal. I do miss drinking liquids though and do have a coffee every now and then.
