Hello everyone
Update from my first week of Chemo treatment.
1.) Results from my PET scan do not show that the cancer has spread to any organs or lymph nodes. The cancer in the stomach does not show up since it has not spread through and seems to be flat, which confirms that is most likely stage 2 and possibly stage 1. PET scans do not show flat structures well and are better at 3D images.
2.) PICC line insertion went fairly well the day prior to the first day of chemo. They got the line in and it was smooth, it was just a bit painful since I do not freeze well and normally need 3 to 4 times the normal dosage for local freezing
3.) Blood work showed slight elevations for liver, but the doctor thinks it may be from my ulcer bleeding a bit and the body reacting to it.
4.) First day of chemo today went well. So far I have no symptoms and it was actually pretty fun talking to the nurses and patients there with me. I am anticipating that I may have some nausea in the next couple of days. But it was basically me sitting in a comfy chair chatting with people. So quite relaxing and non-stressful.
5.) I have the pump in me now and will need to go back to get it disconnected tomorrow.
So far everything is going awesome. I will know more in the next couple of days to see if anything is not going well. I will take medication as required as soon as I have any symptoms.
