Last night I had a bit of incontinence so I can 100% now say that it is triggered by fatigue. When I went to bed last night I was completely exhausted and fell asleep immediately. It felt like I had just finished a really heavy day if physical activity, so I was a bit concerned going to bed. I woke up at 4:30 and noticed some dampness. So the undergarments did their job but it also confirmed that when I am extremely tired that my body’s response systems will be impacted. Now that I know this though I am ok with it and will just prepare accordingly. There is not much that I will be able to do to deal with it as my body goes through the treatment. The impact of chemotherapy is cumulative and with the extra dosages that I will be getting in Spain it is difficult to know what the end result will be. It is better to err on the side of being safe. I can only work till around 2pm before I get quite tired and I need to take a break. The good news is that the mental fatigue recovers fairly quickly when I take a nap, but physically I feel tired.
I have been eating fairly well for the day but today it is a bit off as i felt a bit nauseous throughout parts of the day. I am not sure the reason for it so will view it as a one day anomaly. I think that I maybe have forgotten to take a pill this morning. My weight is at 132 which is a slow enough increase from my previous measurements as I have been eating more food. My tastes were good today and I was able to taste my food fairly well. I will need to cook dinner tomorrow, but it is a pretty easy dinner that I will get Xavier to help out with as well. We will end up having some steal and potatoes alongside some roasted broccoli, so overall it is a simple dinner. I may try and see if one of the kids wants to prepare it all from scratch and I provide instructions on what needs to be done. We do not know what will be happening with school but I will need to drive Xavier to hockey. We will see if he is at school or at home tomorrow to go in to hockey.
After dinner at Mel’s parents we went to Walmart to purchase some things that we needed for Spain. Olivier and Mel took turns driving the wheelchair and Olivier is by far the best one. He goes slowly and makes good turns. He will also turn me to face things that make sense. Melanie and Xavier like to have me facing random directions with nothing to actually look at and I need to twist the chair so I can see. Mel also likes these quick zero point turns. Those are worse than what Xavier does because you are spinning on the spot and she focuses on what she is looking at so I end up looking at the most random things. Olivier is slow and deliberate and lets me look at things and goes at a pace that I can actually look at things in the aisle. If you need a driver, I highly recommend Olivier over the other two who are oblivious to everything. I also need to try and capture my thoughts earlier in the day as when I type this at night I can feel myself wanting to rest.
