One of my favorite memories growing up was watching hockey in the living room with my best friend and his family. It was tradition that we would watch all major sporting events with his dad in the living room. I do not remember any scores or any events specifically, just the memory of us all sitting there watching sports. The world junior championship is something I enjoy watching every year. Xavier is not the type to sit there for 3 hours and watch the whole game, but he will watch a bit here and there. He saw a couple of goals and made comments on the goaltending during the goals. He is biased as a goalie, but made remarks that the goals were not the goalies fault and what happened on the play. With Covid we will see what the impact will be on his season. Right now he had a practice cancelled because someone tested positive on a rapid test. He has not been on the ice with them for over a week now though and they just recently tested positive. I am not too concerned with it at the moment.
We had a small gathering at Christmas with our immediate family and had some turkey and side dishes. I realized that right now I do not have the energy to cook everything, especially two days in a row. We had my siblings over for Christmas eve and then the parents came as well on Christmas day. Yesterday I spent the day doing nothing except playing video games with my brother. I am still a little tired today. I realized that on occasion after a long day or if I have done a lot of things I feel tired and with no energy. It is an interesting development.
Olivier is perceptive and noticed that Mel used the rug that he had chosen out for her. He was asking about some of it and notices when the gifts he purchased are used. When he came home today he made a comment about it being out and used. Xavier does not care as much. He is fine having someone else buy something and choose it and he gets credit. Olivier prefers to purchase it himself and will check up to make sure that it is being used.
I am a bit surprised at how easily I can get fatigued still. I was outside with Xavier and showed him how to brush off the truck using the broom and to collect the snow around the truck so he can shovel it away. He had told me that his mom said he could not touch the vehicles with his jacket to avoid getting it dirty. I told him to scrape the snow away so he could then shovel it. I tried shoveling a bit a couple of days ago and could only do a bit. I tried again today and could only do a little. I guess I will need to just do short walks now until I gain a bit more endurance. My weight fluctuates between 169 and 174 right now depending on the day. I am starting to eat more so it should go up as I start to build some more muscle. At some point this year I would like to go to a rink with the kids and do some skating and pass with my son. We went to one of the local bike stores today where we buy a lot of our gear looking for some gloves and made a comment that Xavier is going to need a new bike this year. He is growing fast and they said to buy one now as they will be harder to get later on. Seeing as I can not bike and Olivier has no interest in biking or going fast it will be hard for us to go out as a family. I think it will still take a while before I can go out biking. I am starting to make bigger meals now, and more chores, but it will take some time.
