Every time i see him i treat him like a little kid and I ask him how my little baby boy is doing and I tell him that i love him. A smile creeps on his face and he replies back to me that he loves me. He was not feeling well the last couple of days so I am checking in on him, but treat him like a kid that is useless. It is great fun, Olivier said i should call him my big baby. I do prefer calling him Squishy Pineapple though and then squeezing him. Olivier will say i love you more spontaneously though. When I worked at the hospital I had a couple of coworkers that I would say I love you to. Most of them were male but there were a couple of females that I was close enough to that I would tell them I love you, and they would laugh and say it back. At Vale the guys on the team I would say it to, but the females I generally did not. Vale also made me more comfortable with hugging everyone as it was Brazilian culture so I just got use to it whether it was male or female. A couple of weeks ago I noticed on my current team that the boys would leave at the end of the day or night and say I love you in the group chat or at the end of a meeting. When I first met this group, they were a bit more reserved and it was not something that was super evident and the teamwork and camraderie took time to build up. The CEO of the company and myself see these boys the same, as they are all in their early 20’s and we are the same ages as their parents. One of them told me that he tried to explain the culture that we were trying to create and it is something that they had some difficulty understanding at first but it is getting better now. I hsve always done this with my close friends and what I think it shows is a deeo care, trust and security. it is appreciation and support for those that you have chose to include in your life.

I have transitioned to Wednesday for my treatments and one of the volunteers told me that they were glad that I was on Wednesday as they liked me. The cancer center was packed today and with it being a short week there is a compressed schedule. I knew all of the registration clerks today so that went super quickly and we had a nice chat. The nurse trainer was there today and I had seen her in huddle. She was training some nurses and when she saw that I was there she was all excited, as she wanted one of the new nurses to practice inserting the port needle into me. The nurse I had is someone that i have had in the past and she is great so she did it all quickly as she did not realize that within the huddle they wanted a patient to practice on. Apparently i am a safe patient for new nurses as i am patient and easy to deal with. I am sarcastic with a dry sense of humour and can be a trouble maker for some of them, but most of them enjoy having me as their patient. Talking to my nurse today i had asked if she had any of the shortbread and she had mentioned she had seen the jar, but did not get any so I told her i would give her some. She mentioned that the younger nurses always ask if they can have some, so I said next time that I am going to write on the box that it is only for nurses over the age of 25 or a minimum of 25 years of service. i will need to come up with a reason why i have such a ridiculous condition. One of the other nurses came by and asked my nurse if she needed something. I told the nurse that she could probably use a coffee and that she should go get one for her. We the had a discussion about coffee and the debacle that happened yesterday at Tim Hortons. The session went as planned, they gave me the Benadryl and then I started treatment and it knocked me out. i got up inbetween some of the drugs and ate my sandwich and went back to sleep. Got up and a meeting was starting that I decided to jump on for the ride home. While at the cancer center I saw a colleague from the University and she was there supporting her husband. I did not realize that her husband had cancer, it takes such a toll on you as a support person. I am going to need to reach out to her and see how she is doing and tell her she can contact me if she needs any advice. i am a seasoned pro with all of this now and have a lot of different strategies on how to dweal with all of this. As soon as she saw me she had a big smile and sat down beside me to talk quickly. This is week 3 and I have a break now, so hopefully that all goes well. If so then I want to confirm that this cycle is fine before I speak to Spain agfain. i think that I want to go back to slow down ascites buildup as it seems that it is starting to come more frequently now compared to before. We will know in a couple of weeks.

QHM

In the last couple of days i have taken to teasing Xavier.
