Mel probably carried the brunt of the load as she helped me and also had to clean up ater me as well. We did a lot of things in ways that I do not think that we would have normally and I think that for next time I am going to readjust some of the way that we do some things. We had found this recipe for making mashed potatoes in the slow cooker and i must say that i i was not a huge fan of it, but it was the best of what i could do with limited energy. We should have learned and adjusted from last time, but Mel thought that we should put the turkey in the oven at 11am, and it was done by 3pm. Our convection oven cooks things quite fast so i think that next time we can put it in around noon or even 1pm and be fine. Overall dinner turned out well, though it was difficult for me to make some things. I made a gravy, but as my taste buds are kind of shot today it was hard for me to taste how things were. i like to use the giblets and I roast them a bit and create a fond in the pot and then simmer it all for a while and afterwards we added the pan drippings and I adjusted all of the seasoning. Mel thought it was slightly salty, but the kids overruled her and said it was delicious, so clearly Mel was wrong. i could not taste it, so it was not overly salty, as i can only taste it if it is over. Dinner went over well, except that i could not eat the ham. that was a bit disappointing for me as i was looking forward to it. i had even made a dijon honey mustard sauce to go with it. I love cranberry sauce, but I struggled with that as well. I had left the ham and cranberry sauce till the end and then i struggled to eat more. It is interesting how textures and tastes can have such an impact on me.

Overall I managed energy levels fairly well today. i took the steroid halfway through the day and took breaks repeatedly through everything, which resulted in more work for Mel. The kids helped out a bit, but she felt a bit guilty because they had helped so much before. Our family is awesome though and they never leave things to be done when they can help out. During all of the food prep they helped out and afterwards they all helped with clean up as well. My parents brought chicken balls and they also made sweet sticky rice which everyone loved. Because it is my parents, they brought their own air fryer for the chicken balls, because apparently we do not have one. They brought the rice in their own instant pot as well. My sister-in-law enjoys that rice so she took the rest home and it was the first time that my mother in law tried the rice and she enjoyed it as well. After I spent 30-45 minutes doing things then i would go back and rest up in the warmth of my bedroom. The heater that i was using may have caused a slight issue as it seems that i may have burnt out the outlet and the room smelled a bit. Tomorrow i will look to swap out the outlet if i have the energy. Right now i feel fine, but i can start to feel the ache that occurs in my bones. I figure that I have a couple of hours before i should lie down and rest up a bit more. i am just waiting to heat up the washroom before I go shower and then i will retreat to the comforts of my bed. I have a honeyed chrysanthemum tea to help warm me up.

I appreciate that we are able to have both families come together and eat at our house as it makes our lives a bit easier. We can have one meal here instead of going over to two houses and splitting up our time and energy and I could also retreat to the bedroom today to rest. I did not get a chance to nap today, but i did not really feel the need to nap. it seems that my bowel movement schedule has been a bit disrupted from this weekend and everything that has happened. It should hopefully revert back to normal. Last night Mel told me quite the interesting story. I went to bed before she did and she said I had the covers off and told her to turn on the overhead fans. i woke up this morning and was freezing and hid under the covers and she told me about that story about last night. i do not remember it at all, but i do know that when I get cold, there does come a time where i do get hot and toss it all off, so she is probably right. So far today went well and we will see how things go for the rest of the weekend.

Q

Today we had Thanksgiving dinner so we had a lot to do.
