Xavier walked out of the dressing room and had a smirk on his face. He told me that he thinks that he broke his stick as it did not feel rght, He handed it over to me and I looked at the shaft and you could see it starting to fall apart and as I examined it I noticed the crack in it. He told me that when he was trying to shoot that it did not feel right. I told him that we could order some new sticks for him when we got home. Xavier is a good kid and he knows that he is spoiled. If he ever broke a stick because of anger than he would not be getting custom sticks. We could just buy stock sticks off the rack, but he gets modifications to his stick that is not standard. Ever since he stared playing I allowed him the ability to customize his equipment. Every parent tries to provide things for their kid that they did not get. I do not necessarily try to advocate for him to make teams and allow him freedom to do what he wants. My parents had always gave me freedom, and they never tried to dictate what I should do or get. Being immigrants they could not afford hockey as it is an expensive sport. My parents had to support a family of 5, my grandmother while sending money back to Vietnam to help out with family. Money was more constrained with them growing up. Even though they had less money they provided a lot for us and we were never left wanting. I live vicariously through Xavier now by giving him the freedom to give him whatever he wants for his hockey gear Olivier rarely asks. me for video games, even though i tell him that he can tell me what he wants and I will get it for him. A video game will provide him hundreds of hours of entertainment and the cost is not that high. It is less than I spend monthly bringing treats to the hospital for the various departments. I am quite lucky that we are in a financial situation right now where we can provide for our kids like this. I also know that if something happened to me and Xavier needed new equipment, there would be quite a few people that would provide for him. It is not really about money, but being able to provide something for the kids that provide them joy. As long as they stay humble and appreciate it then I will provide for them. If they ever displayed behaviour that goes against what Mel and i try and do then we would probably take things away. Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine and he had mentioned that he has never heard me swear and I told him that Mel and i rarely swear. Our kids. may hear it from others, but within our own household it rarely occurs. We do not judge people who use it regularly in their vocabulary, but it is something that we rarely do. I also pointed out that I do not use contractions because in professional writing it is frowned upon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am not exactly sure how to feel about my health at the moment. On the surface level everytning seems fine and on track, but there are little setbacks that occur here and there. I have a rash on my stomach from tape, my bowel movements have changed. I am not sure if my current weight gain of 2 lbs is a result of my current gastric. situation or ascites. I have had some sporadic issues sleeping, but the neuropathy is getting better. For every progress that we see, there are small reminders that not everything is perfect. Tomorrow i am going to focus on trying to drink more water to help out with ny current gastric situation. The thing is that drinking is not an issue and things seem to be flowing well for fluids and my urine does not suggest that I am dehydrated. I am not sure what changed in the routine to cause this. The amount of Asian food that we ate during the week without treatment decreased as my parents did not bring food on my treatment day and I have not eaten the tofu dessert in a couple of weeks now. We will see if that helps to resolve some of the things. Tomorrow I am gping to see if I can have the urine testing added to my lab requisition as it is not showing up on my current sheets but the cancer nurses check it. There is the possibility that it is not needed for the treatment this week, but we are back to the dreaded drug that has alcohol as a solvent. Hopefully they switched it and we will see what the new pattern is. If everything is ok then I will want to go through another full cycle before we go back to Spain. i think that right now that I want to go back because it seems that the ascites build up is happening faster now and last time it went away fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
