I went this night because I wanted to distribute the swag bags to all of the kids on the team. Most of the team showed up today and I wanted them to have their pant shells and shirts for the tournament. With the pant shells we look like a more complete team now, all that we are missing are matching helmets and gloves. One of the dad’s said we should look into getting wraps for the kids next year. They can put on antennaes and eyes. Xavier is complaining that his feet hurt, so I need to change out his inserts for some other ones and hopefully that will help him out a bit. We will be leaving for the tournament tomorrow and I need to go to the store tomorrow and buy some ingredients for our car sandwiches. We like to eat some sandwiches in the car ride instead of eating out. For dinner today we got some takeout and as the kids get older they do not necessarily like fast food. What Olivier asked for tonight is kind of embarassing. He wanted some pho, so we picked some up. We should have asked my parents to make it for us as it is tastier, we get more and it is far far cheaper than getting some from the restaurants here. The broth and food was fine, but I prefer my parents. In Toronto they have some good pho restaurants with far larger portions. The portions here are Westernized and not like what we normally get at a restaurant. I did not get that and got basil chicken with the intent of Mel having the rest for lunch tomorrow. I was not a fan of it because for god knows what reason they decided to bread and deep fry the chicken. The flavour was good but I did not want that greasy chicken. Mel does not have a lunch tomorrow because we have a bottomless pit named Xavier that ate the rest of it.

Growing up one thing that my parents never cheaped out on was raw ingredients for food. They have always been extremely picky about that and I remember some of the crazy prices that they have paid for food. As a child we always had fantastic food and meals and my friends and I would eat some great food at my place. That is not to say that they did not buy processed food, but we did not really grow up eating a lot of things like that generally. When we first started off I do remember us having TV dinners and things like that, but as my parents started to get more established and had more money things like that disappeared. I always wanted the kraft handi-snacks growing up with those little red plastic cheese spreaders. Originally I do not think that it was Cheez Whiz, but eventually it was a collaboration with that. Now I can only find the no name brands of that. If I find them again I am going to buy them. Last night I used ChatGPT to analyze my posts and a common theme that I talk about is food. Mel found a food tour that her friend went on and it is something that would be fun, except I can not eat enough to make it worthwhile. Mel was also supposed to give my chimichurri to that friend but she forgot it at home. If she is reading this, know that Mel is late delivering it because she forgot it in the fridge. Olivier baked again today and I think he might do it again tomorrow. He seems to love baking so obviously Xavier told his brother that he is going to start so he can be better than him. Typical sibling behaviour.

My food intake has decreased a bit now, as prior I would eat 3 meals before noon, 3 by dinner and then another 3 by bedtime. It has decreased to 2, 2 and 2 as I have tried to focus on hyration and drinking more. I have also had sweet desserts and things like that when I can. I do have a sweet tooth and will indulge in things like that if I have the opportunity. My bowel movements have returned to normal. I do not know how much I weigh at the moment because I have been slacking and have not weighed myself. I have taken my temperature though and it is stable and is fine. I should take the scale out to see how much I weigh now with the ascites drainage. The drainage is not much so I think that I did gain weight. Xavier wants me to workout to gain some more muscle. I think that I might try and do a light workout with him next week prior to my chemo treatment.

Q

I forgot to write today and I just got back from hockey with Xavier.
