His wife had read my post and was amused that I wrote about his tardiness. He did not disappoint and instead of arriving at 9:00 like he had told me last night be arrived at 9:45am, which is not too bad. He has shown up hours and days late in the past. When we were students and were attending conferences we would sometimes share a room to help save on costs and he did enjoy sleeping in the morning. At a conference in Atlanta we had a room with a large tub and he would often lounge in the bathtub reading articles for hours on end. I also enjoy a nice large soaker tub and whenever we have a hotel room that has one I try and use it all of the time. Our current house does not have one and it would be a nice addition, but it would require extensive renovations to the upstairs washroom. Right now that washroom has a one piece shower tub combo that is seamless. You can only put those into the house when you are first building as it is fairly large and it does not really fit through doors. He gets along well with Melanie as well and he has had very lengthy chats with her and has hung out with her without me on occasion. We ran errands with him and went to the dump, Home Depot and Home Hardware. I did not bring my wheelchair on these trips and he carried me around in his arms like a princess when we were inside the stores. That is what he should have done, but I walked throughout and did not struggle too much with it. We always have great conversations with him and I enjoy our time together. Out of all my male friends he is the one that is always the most considerate at reaching out to others. He calls us far more than we call him. One of our mutual friends and I rarely initiate calls, and whenever we do the first thing we always ask is everything ok. It is amusing because the first instinct that we have is something must be wrong because you are calling. Nothing has ever been wrong, but it is a bit telling that we call so little that our first instinct is something must be wrong to be getting a call.

My eating was not as proficient today as it is when we are not out and about. We were gone from the house today from 9:30 and did not come back till 12:30. We stopped at A&W and I grabbed a double buddy burger for protein to help sustain me and I managed to eat 3/4 at 11:45 and ate the other 1/4 at 1:30. We had to go to two different nursuries to buy our apple trees, but one of them may give us some fruit this year which is exciting. My friend likes to chat, so at 1pm we had to kick him out so that he could go attend the funeral/wake that started at 1pm. It was a 20-30 minute drive from our place so he was not going to arrive at 1pm. It was a celebration of life for a mutual friend’s mother. She is an oncologist at the hospital and is an awesome person, but we are not super close anymore. Once we returned home I had a chocolate brownie parfait and Mel and i took a nap. She decided to nap with me and we ended up napping for 90 minutes. I tend to not move much when I nap and neither does Mel. I like to hold hands with Mel while napping in the event that a volcano erupts and covers us and preserves our skeletons, future people who excavate the area will see a couple in a loving pose. I like to have contingency plans for things, this way people will know that we were in love. When we woke up, I was a bit surprised that we were still holding hands and Mel realized how stiff her hand was afterwards. The sacrifices people will do for love.

Tonight for dinner we had pickeral cheeks for dinner, with roasted potatoes and coleslaw. Earlier this week I had underestimated how long it would take to cook dinner and interestingly enough i underestimated the pickeral cheeks as well. It took an hour longer than I had anticipated, basically because of the sheer number of them. I battered and fried them, but changed the recipe half way through to make them crispier and better. Pickerel cheeks are small and only take a couple of minutes to cook, but I had to fry them in batches and ended up doing far more batches than I had anticipated I would need. I was a bit surprised at how much Olivier loved them and he would come by and steal some. My grandmother use to tell me that stolen food was the best and I totally agree. I can no longer take illicit drugs, but we are a foodie family so illicit food is just as awesome. The meal took me about 2 hours to prep and cook everything. Afterwards I felt pretty good and I think that overall things are pretty good in preparation for my treatment this week. I need to figure out what food I want to take this week for 10am treatment. I need to bring a lunch, and right now I think I want to try and bring a Banh Mi sandwich with the pork belly.

I have recovered well from this round of treatment and I want to try and prevent some of the issues that I had this time. Right now Mel wanted me to spend time with he while she painted, so Xavier moved a chair close to the area where she is working so I can supervise her. I want to give her some time to do some work before I start critiquing her. I think I am just going to look at the wall and shake my hand, I am sure that she will love that. When she asks me what is wrong I will just sigh and say nothing. To counter the neuropathy I can wear my compression gloves during treatment. The days following treatment I am going to try and focus on soups and softer foods without much texture and I will drink my boost. It is ideal because my taste buds are disrupted, so as soon as I notice that I will introduce those drinks. Today I have not drank as much fluid as I normally do and I can really tell. Mel is going to be painting till midnight I think. The pace at which this is happening I think that she might be doing this until midnight. The day went by far quicker than we had anticipated as I think that she had actually wanted to start this in the afternoon. She wants to try and paint two coats of paint in the walls, it is not a super large area so it is possible she can get it done. Once I am done posting I may get off my laptop and read a physical book or a book on my phone while I watch her paint. My hands are freezing at the moment and I think that a physical book will allow me to wear my gloves. I purchased a book that I think I want my team to read, but I have not read it yet so I figured that I should.

Q

This morning my friend came to visit.
